Why Editing
“There is but one art, to omit.”
– Robert Louis Stevenson
What happens after writing your story?
Congratulations on finishing your manuscript! I know you’ve spent a lot of time with these characters, loving them like they’re your own family. You’ve put all those late-night epiphanies down on paper, hoping that it’ll all make sense. Well, my friend, let’s see if I can help it make even more sense.
Why should you get professional editing?
My goal is to help you tell your story in the way you want it told. I’ve had professional training and experience with editing manuscripts, as well as webinar and event transcripts, so I know exactly what to look for when doing a developmental edit or a copyedit. Yes, professional editing does cost money, but I promise it’ll be worth it. I’m not afraid to tell you what I see and give my opinion on what changes I think will help improve your book. Can your friends and family do that? Yes, they can, but it’s also good to get a professional’s opinion who knows the field.
How will it help me? You’ll have the best possible version of your story and may help you write better in the future.
Editing can be scary, but I promise to be causal, yet professional. I want to be your book’s friend and help it grow.
