Romanticize Your Life
You are the author of your story
Each week, I teach a dance class to moms, a group called MOM-entum (check us out on Instagram @momentumdancetroupe). At the end of every class, we have a calming circle with an affirmation. The following is one I wrote.
Have you ever sat down with a good book, or watched a movie or TV series, and gotten lost in the story? It’s almost as if you become the main character, and you live vicariously through them. We sometimes fanaticize about what it would be like if our life was like that character; if we had that witty banter with our enemy who turns out to be our soul mate; if we were on that grand adventure to explore the unknown; if we had magic and could create wonderful things.
But what if we can do that? What if we can choose to be the main character in our story that is life? We are all on different paths right now, going through our own experiences, whether they be joyful, sad, or difficult. Other people may be the antagonists in our story to try and bring us down. Or it may be a situation or thing of the past that weighs heavily on you.

Despite these trials, you are writer, the editor, and main character of your story. You can romanticize your life. Dress up, put on makeup, “Take pretty pictures, feel like main character. Light up a candle, read books, go for a walk, dance to your favorite music, buy yourself presents, go rock climbing, do whatever [makes you happy]. This is your life, so embrace it and don’t let anyone take it from you.” – @successfulfemalemindset
Remember, you are the author of your story and can make it as enchanting and magical as you want. You deserve to have those adventures, love, friendships, joy, and magic just like your favorite characters
